Dear Wild West Racer, The race season is almost upon us and we’re getting excited to see all of you again.Once again Layne and I would like to thank each and every one of you for your incredible support last year.We had an absolutely great time with all of you.
We are pleased to announce title sponsorship from Kawasaki, Yamaha, Western Power Sports, FLY, Scott, Acerbis, Triple Effects, Local Hero MX, Action Cycle & Sleds, Big Boys Toys, South Valley Motorsports and Steadman Recreation, LMP Photography, Ogio and Performance Fix Racing for 2010.Michelin will be providing Bib Bucks for both days through the whole series for all classes.Fly Bucks will be available on Sunday races only for all classes.Additional contingencies will be provided at each race event including at the end of the series, Pro money along with amateur contingencies to every rider that qualifies in our series.The additional Pro Money will be paid back as follows:$1,000.00 for each Saturday event and $4,500.00 will be paid back to the qualified Pro’s at the year end awards banquet.Our End of Series banquet is absolutely wonderful.As the riders and their families are enjoying a sit down meal my crew and I do the awards presentation.Everyone that rides 14 days out of the 18 days is eligible for year end awards regardless of placement.Year end awards consist of, a plaque or trophy, contingency prizes and meal tickets for the rider and two guests. Everyone gets acknowledged and prizes.It’s like having a 2nd Christmas.Some examples of the contingency prizes provided for year end awards are as follows:Ramps, Goggles, Gear, Helmets, Gear Bags, Bike Stands, Bike Parts, Tires and etc…The list of contingencies is too long to mention everything.Be assured these prizes are Awesome!Our banquet is truly a special event. Expectations are to have a good time, enjoy the great sport of motocross and making memories with our families and friends. We strongly encourage you to get your memberships in early to avoid standing in long lines on race days and to reserve your bike number for the season.Pre-registration for memberships are, $20.00 for your first class then $10.00 per each additional class.If memberships are purchased on the day of the race the cost is $30.00 plus $10.00 per additional class.We will offer day cards at $5.00 per class per day.Pre-registration must be mailed in no later than March 7th, 2010.We will prepare your membership card(s) and send it to you or you can pick it up the day of the first race.Please print clearly and send the membership forms back to me.Make all checks or Money Orders payable to the Wild West Nationals.Mail your memberships and payment to Tina Mouritsen, 2092 N. Sapphire Place, Meridian, ID83646.Friday, March 11th sign up will stay open until 9:00 PM with the remainder of the Friday night Sign ups only open until 9:00 PM.We will also be opening sign up at 6:00 AM on Saturday, April 4th.Regardless of the number of people in line for Saturday’s sign up practice will start promptly at 7:00 AM.
This will be the last chance to race at Mesquite before the World Mini’s.The track will be closed until then. NO REFUNDS will be given once practice has started for that day’s race event throughout the whole series.
Please see the early sign up form contained in this letter.Last years early sign up was such a success that we’re doing it again this year but only for the first round in Mesquite, NV.This will help save time for everyone.Remember, when signing up through the mail you will need to pay for your membership and your sign up together (example:Membership for one class is $20.00 and Sign Up to race for one class (amateur) both days is $60.00 equaling $80.00 for the weekend).Shortly after receiving your sign up forms I will enter the information into the computer and send a copy of the form back to you for your records.Make your hotel reservations for Mesquite as soon as possible rooms are very limited. Virgin River Hotel & Casino 877-438-2929 has rooms blocked under Wild West MotoX, Group #37164.The rates are incredible $34.98 per night (Sun – Thurs) and $44.98 per night (Fri – Sat).Please try to get you rooms reserved by March 12th.
This year’s schedule is for nine weekends, (eighteen days of racing.)All races will be counted for points none will be thrown out.In order to be officially scored as a participant for the day a rider must complete one lap for that class. This will keep the rider eligible for series awards. We are allowing the 150cc 4-Stroke to race in the 85cc classes and Super Mini’s classes. School Boy class a rider can ride a 125cc 2-Stroke or a 250cc 4-Stroke.We will not be allowing a 250cc 2-Stroke to race in the 125cc 2-Stroke/250cc 4-Stroke classes again this year.We will not have the Sportsman Class this year.In order to stay consistent with other organizations for age eligibility (such as NMA) the cut off date this year is January 1st. If you have any questions about Pee Wee bikes and classes please send me an email tmouritsen@cableone.net or call me 208-697-6164.Pee Wee classes will be running on the big track.The track will be modified for Heads Up Shaft and Pee Wee 6 & Under classes.If you have any concerns please get in touch with me.Anyone that has been to one of our races knows how important the Pee Wee’s are to me. You must WEAR a wristband ON YOUR WRIST AT ALL TIMES INCLUDING WHEN YOU COME TO SIGN UP.YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SIGN ANYONE UP WITHOUT THEM ON!!!!THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS…..THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!WE WILL BE PATROLLING ALL RACE EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE DAY. Yelling at the Medical Personnel will not be tolerated. Parents, please watch and control your children at the tracks.Vandalism will not be tolerated.Also, these are family oriented events, fighting, yelling and misconduct of any type will not be tolerated.Good conduct is expected, not a suggestion.We are here for words of Encouragement not Discouragement, let’s make this a positive experience and set good examples.If you bring a dog or pet to the races, the animal must be on a leash and contained at all times.
It is in your best interest to make all hotel reservations as early as possible to guarantee a room (s). Mesquite Hotel’s are filling fast please make your reservations as soon as possible.Reservations can always be canceled later.I will be sending a flyer out with hotel information in about two weeks.Also, watch for the information on the web page www.wildwestseries.com.
